Letter, portrait, and a newspaper clipping, 1849-1858.

Handwritten and signed letter, dated 21 Sept. 1849, and addressed to N.F. More, possibly Nathaniel Fish More (1782-1872). Anthon expresses an opinion of a few lines of Latin poetry which are copied onto the letter. Also included is a newspaper clipping of a brief biography of Anthon and an engraved portrait of him.
